SKPS Politics !!

Tuesday, December 2nd, 2008

SKPS school head boy/girl elections …. hmmm…. quite nostalgic !!! I hope it still has the hype and glamour what it had…. I was fortunate to be the part and parcel of 4 such election campaigns right from the year it started.

when I was in 9th, that is hmmmm… 2002…. our then new principal Mr. Francis KA came with such an idea of American Model School Elections… where every one from class 4-12 can vote and directly elect the School Head Boy/Girl.

The one week long campaigning ,biasing votes, posters all around, the small little ‘bribes’ for the young voters, spreading rumours, getting beaten up, those stupid fights …..

and not the least…. the Meet the Candidate Programme…. (Trust me! Its a night mare…) all were the key features of our own SKPSian Politics.

And the best thing, after the elections….. after all these dramas, allegations, fights….. skpsians could reallly gel together and work as a team allways!

Though the present skpians are not allowed to go so ‘wild’ during public campaigning I guess all that it still happens ‘under cover’ in skps with the same ‘josh’.

Hopefully someone is there to carry forward the skps spirit and keep it alive…..

I suddenly felt like blogging on this space bcoz in our college we are speaking about elections and we have started with some of the so called  ’political’ games !

And I was just rembering that we have seen much more of all that in our own school and actually thers nothing new that our college mates can surprise us with !

Bottom line:- Whatever be the field……………..

SKPS ROCKS !

Conveyance Facility Even To The Remotest Corner

Tuesday, September 30th, 2008

Service is the lifeblood of any organization .Everything flows from it and is nourished by it. Conveyance facility is an unavoidable factor that determines the development of a particular region. Every educational institution aims at making a learner perfect by providing them all good facilities.

St.Kuriakose senior secondary school, the splendid five storeyed building situated on the top of a beautiful hill Mariamala, extends its whole hearted service for the students. For the convenience of both the teachers and the students our school is providing daily bus services. It has been made available to almost all the members of S.K.P.S family. The school buses are plying their journeys efficiently and effectively to various corners of the district and even to neighboring ones.

At present our school has 9 buses operating within a radius of 25 km, fetches almost 90% of the students. It reaches every hook and corner of the areas like Vaikom, Ettumanoor, Vayala, Uzhavoor, Kuravilangadu and Elanji and takes the students from their doorsteps.

Even though our school is situated in a rural area thousands of students come and learn here due to available bus services. The school also provides with the bus facilities on all Saturdays and holidays for those students preparing for their entrance examination, by taking them to nearby coaching centre at Palai. It’s really another advantage that our school provides for its students.

Children even from the remote areas enjoy the pleasure and treasure of education in this well established school due to this facility. We are really proud of our school and facilities provided to us .There is no doubt that our school is the best among CBSE schools.

Teacher Pupil Relationship in SKPS

Tuesday, September 30th, 2008

TEACHERS- They are the best on earth.. Education is the second birth of an individual. In SKPS, we are nurtured by our second parents, teachers. I am happy to say that our teachers desire is to teach us and mould us to succeed in life. A teacher is like a candle, that consumes itself to light the way of others. Without them we would have been lost in darkness of ignorance.

Half a cup of friendship and half a cup of thoughtfulness creamed together with a pinch of tenderness, mixed in a bowl of loyalty with a cup of faith and one of hope, the ability to laugh at little things baked in a good knowledge literate pan, is the best way of describing our energetic teachers.

Even though, they are facing Herculean tasks and problems, they always please us. It is a best inspiration for us, to be happy in spite of worries and tensions.

It will be incomplete, without mentioning our principal, Mr.K.A.Francis. He always reminds us that “winners don’t do different things but do things differently”. This motivates us to charge our imagination and exhibits varieties in all spheres of life.

The bond we share with our teachers is like a circle of love, which has neither a beginning nor an ending but keeps on expanding. The word “SKPS family”, came to its perfection due to its purity and divinity of our teachers-pupil relationship.

Imagine a black sky with bright shining stars all together. It is a beautiful sight, isn’t it?

The sky is our SKPS.

The bright little shining stars are the students.

The stars are turned shining by our teachers and Principal.
